I’ve secured a space at ICO gallery for a group show and I’m now looking for several more artists to fill the space with work between June 3rd – 6th. I’ve contacted several artists recently, since then I’ve restructured the percentages, 20 percent of all sales go to benefit cancer research and to help those who need financial aid who are stricken with the disease – Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center will receive the proceeds and will allocate them as they see fit. Forty percent will go to cover the cost of renting the gallery space and the remaining 40 percent will be allocated to the artist. The concept of the show is intentionally left open ended; it will have no contrived theme or constraints on the artist’s creativity. I’m welcoming all input from artists to help in publication, ideas or concepts. This is not an open call. I intentionally sought out artist I thought would work well in the show, and I wanted to avoid a flood of responses. If you are interested please let me know and feel free to contact me at anytime. This coming Sunday at 11a.m I would like to meet the artists at the gallery space to go over details. Please bring with you a CD with 3-5 high resolution images, an artist bio, and an artist statement, as they will be needed to create announcement cards and to write up and send out press releases.

i rent a gallery space in chelsea, ny for several days only (bwt 3-4) in early to mid may. invite artists that i think are accomplished and donate half the proceeds to memorial sloan kettering cancer center, 35% to the artist and 15% to cover gallery fee. the prices are determined by the artist - hopefully reasonable - under 10k. there's no running theme - it is kept, intentionally, as an open format with no restriction on the artist's creative process. the only thing i ask is it remain tasteful (no violent or debasing nudity or rotting flesh for example). the artist will be responsible for drop off and pick up of work and insurance for the work if he or she chooses. if this sounds of any interest to you please contact me and we can go over more details. also i'm looking for several more artists to be in the group show, so feel free to send links or small image files of any artists you think i may be interested in. moreover i'm possibly considering owning and operating a gallery in the future, and honestly this is one way to meet artists and get my feet wet. in the very near future i want to meet with several potential artists (hopefully you included in a meet and greet) and go over ideas and formulate a plan as a group. i would very much like this to be a group effort, which i think is the whole point in doing this in the first place.

thank you in advance,

travis mong
