Just joined Meetup.com.. It seems pretty interesting on the surface. I'm not sure how effective/often people actually meet up and if collaborations and friendships actually come of the events.

Hi Matt, Meetup.com is a great site, and well used. We'll be having BAP meet-ups starting in 2009 in cities like NY, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, etc. Let me know if you'd be into volunteering for the NYC event team, would be great to have you on board.
