ddiart 1 As a review magazine we spend a great deal of time looking at art, artist and mainstream exhibitions and on occasions we feature the work of people we consider to be outstanding independent artist. Never has this been more appropriate then the case of Diamantino Jesus and Ze Diogo collectively known as DDiarte. I first contacted the Portuguese based artistic duo some months ago after seeing their amazing work on Behance, to request information to write up this review about them. They have since gone on to justify such interest by winning the coveted title of European Professional Photographer of the year 2015, to add to a already bulging trophy cabinet filled with some of the most sought after awards and titles in the world of professional photography. This list includes 2014 Gold Medal: World Photographic Cup in illustrated art- USA, First Second and Third place in the Society of International Fashion and Glamour competition London UK, First prize Gold Medal in Al Thani Awards of photographer- Doha Qatar, to name but a few from a seemingly endless list of excellence. Who are DDiArte

When we set up DDiArte back in 1999, at the time it was a painting workshop where we brought together the best of both of us for the purpose of creation painting on canvas. In 2003 after several experiences in the field of digital photography, we discovered the ideal means to express our creativity. Within the context historiography of art, the use of photography and more specifically retouching photographs is nothing new. We do however aim to innovate somewhat in terms of the themes on which our work is based.
While some of our work can be seen as satirical in a glabalized world, yet still full of differences. Other examples can be seen as purely scenic, to be comtemplated at will. Some shout out against discriminiation and yet they all pay an indelible homage to beauty.

DDiArte can be found at Rua Dr Pita, 32 9000-089 Funchal Portugal
