The fourth annual BETA Spaces (Bushwick Exhibition Triangle of Alternative Spaces), produced by Arts In Bushwick, will be held on November 14, 2010.

BETA Spaces is a free one-day festival of conceptualized and thematic group exhibitions. The festival encourgaes first-time and experienced curators to develop innovative group shows in any and all media, and to re-imagine non-traditional exhibition spaces to present innovative contexts for artwork. In 2009, BETA Spaces included more than 25 curated group shows in a ten square block area of Bushwick and East Williamsburg, including roughly 150 individual artists.

Want to participate in BETA Spaces 2010?
Here's how! We are looking for:

- CURATORS to put together shows of 6 or more artists. You are not limited to visual artists - your show can include any and all media, performances, writing, dance - whatever you like! You don't need to be a professional curator - we encourage artists and other community members to be first-time curators! The festival provides an opportunity to put together exhibitions outside of the white-wall gallery context, which allows for experimentation in curatorial practice. You can show in your own space, or if you do not have one, our COLLABORATIONS page and Mixer events can help you find a venue.

- SPACES (within the area bordered by Johnson Ave, Bushwick Ave and Starr Street) to host curators who do not have access to their own spaces. If your space is located outside of the borders, its inclusion will be decided on a case-by-case basis. We encourage the use of non-traditional exhibition spaces - apartments, studios, alleyways, bathrooms, hallways, gardens, parks, coffee shops, restaurants, whatever you can think of. If you want to host a show but don't want to curate it yourself, our COLLABORATIONS page and mixer events can help you offer your space or connect with a curator.

- ARTISTS who want to show their work in BETA Spaces will be able to contact curators through our ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES page.

Registration is open now, and will run through October 8th. For more information, and to register, please visit If you have any questions, please email
