The story of Adam and Eve

Download L'expulsion du jardin 5.jpg

What should I do with the background? I was thinking about removing everything and leaving the background blank with perhaps a nice blue colour to put the emphasis on the two sinners... What do you think?

...And the Godly weapon? I was thinking about taking the old fashion spear (sword) for something more contemporary, yeah, a modern…

Web site revamp 99.9% complete - check it out.

Hello,

I'm new to the group and new to the blog. Just a quick note that my website is ready for viewing. There are a few minor burps I have to fix, but you'll get a jist of who I am and what I do. www.dianehowley.com. Take a look, drop me a note diane@dianehowley.com and let me know what you think. Much of my photos are of the "post card" variety, but made good bucks on those. My prize piece of art is…

Send Me Mail art or art in the mail or a gift in the mail.

I might actually reciprocate and send something back in return. My po box is uncustomerily empty. Send me pennies for the starving artist fund or if you dare a quarter or a dollor. Yes i teach an advanced pan handling class here in Portland , Oregon but thats only because we have too many artists here. The address for amusing me in the mail is:

2DAY: eyeboogers and a qualitative leap of introspection

today i find myself on a taciturn pedestal- one cut away from succumbing to a surreality of my divination. the studio presents herself as elusive and in repose. silence. the streets ebb noiselessly with the flow of traffic demigods-

i am hunting and gathering. trying to find my religion admidst the confusion of color collisions that is my kitchen. i am avoiding the daily mathmatical equation of making a $1.00 outta 15 cents. i am void of all remnants of yesterday's meal and am… Continue

me up to date...

i'm old. i've done lots of things, been lots of places, seen lots of shit.

i've lived the artists life -paycheck to paycheck for over thirty years. i wouldn't have it any other way. i still can't make the rent with painting but that's not the only artist i am.

i do voice over work, mostly from home. check me at:

http://www.davidthomasvoiceover.com.

thats taken years to get to the point where i can pay the rent from it. and i still can't sometimes... insert your personal… Continue

Japan Lust

Another great find on startdrawing.org - Fuco Ueda. Fuco Ueda is a rising star artist from Japan who paints beautiful images of women in various states of surrealism. Born in 1979, Fuco is certainly one to keep an eye on. "Fuco paints with acrylic and powdered mineral pigments on paper, or on cloth on wood. Her gallery of paintings dates back to as early as 1998, yet… Continue

Start Going to Startdrawing.org

Interesting happenings from Singapore from some of the amazing artists over at Startdrawing.org, an asian drawing portal. The site says is was "started with the aim of showcasing and sharing drawings from talented artists in Asia, and in the process, promote the joys of drawing." - And they do.

Painting Small Things

Check out a painted record of some visually interesting small objects. The
subjects consist of the growing collection of detritus that gravitates
to me and that I find irresistible.
