To draw or to paint

I've been thinking a lot lately about my art. I'm beginning to really like painting but my love is in drawing. I would love to be able to add color to my drawings which is why I began to take up painting.

I don't know what to do. Focus on my drawing or continue learning to paint. I could do both but I can't put my all into both at the same time.

It's finally here!

I ordered a book off of amazon that was written by my favorite artist. It's "Drawing Realistic Textures in Pencil" by J. D. Hillberry. I can't wait to learn the techniques he employs when drawing. Most people seem to feel that it's a self-esteem issue. I am constantly told I need to believe in my work.… Continue

My grandmother inspires me

My grandmother was a painter. She preferred to do oils. I remember watching her paint as a little girl. I would draw as she painted. I remember watching Bob Ross with her and being amazed at what could be created.

I've always wanted to paint like she did. But I think somewhere in my mind I believed that it was a skill far out of my reach. Drawing, well that I've done since I was a little girl. Painting though is so new to me. I am almost afraid of it.
