From the Latin root – to explain or show
To demonstrate so all will know
Monster, also known as one
Fashioned from the mold of none
Incongruous parts united
Bridging worlds sharply divided
Greatest monsters of ancient time
The Griffin and the Sphinx still shine
And so this I’ll embrace with glee,
I’ll revel in my monstrosity!
For a monster’s neither fraud nor freak
But one through whom the gods can speak!
