How often are you the first among your friends to try something new?
What do you want people to know most about you?
I'm an artist. That's how I see and interact with the world. What appear as setbacks, are often where artists find their greatest strengths. I'm lucky that I feel things so strongly. I want to have a positive impact on the world, and I intend to work hard to do so. As Jed Perl says, "The possibilities are unlimited, only you must not allow yourself to be overwhelmed."
Have you seen Brooklyn’s grandest example of Public Artwork? It was built on a framework designed by our fellow artists, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. They felt that social reform could be achieved through art. Nobody is aware it exists. Development may eclipse it.
Protecting and promoting this work-in-progress, begun before the Civil War ended, is now up to today’s artists. We can raise public awareness and save this massive and unknown Public Artwork. If you can, forward the links to artists, politicos, media and civilians – Thanks - Richard
