Hello, My name is Sherri, And I love Art, and everything about art as a total creative and spiritual experience. I love the way pushing paint around a canvas feels, Creating something that looks 3 dimensional on a smooth flat surface is a thrill. I love taking a block of alabaster and releasing the beautiful sculpture within.
It's always been my dream, to gather with other artists in groups. Artists from all over the world. To discuss what art is for them. To challenge each other, teach each other, play and experiment together, have a meal and drink together. The Artists Salon is an experiment. Art like everything evolves. And like the days of the great masters, I feel that having a strong art community is important. I feel encouraging the creative spirit in children is very important. I feel educating the public about art is important. Imagine for a day, just what life would be like without all of the beautiful and thought provoking art around us. Even primitive man liked to create his vision on the walls of his home. History has been recorded in books, but also on canvas! Georgia O'Keefe, was a strong woman, who lived life on her own terms, she was a frontier woman paving the way for other women artists. Eclectic, Eccentric some even thought Odd . But for me she proved that you can do well doing what you love, and make the life you always dreamed of. She's a strong model of the term" Do what you love and the money will follow. She died a wealthy woman.
Although I don't want to be reclusive in my world like she was. I want to share my life, my art, my vision, and what I have learned with other artists and inspiring artists. And at the same time learn from them. My style Varies according to my experiences in life. I dont like to compare my work with anyone elses. We are all on our own paths. And we are all on different levels of art. And that's the way it should be.
