I've always believed that mood is best conveyed with black and white photography, that is rendered very skillfully. I don't see nearly as much black and white photography as I would like to. But color photography can be marvelous, too.

Surreal Drawing of Curvilinear Tree

Last night, I completed a drawing that is part of my ongoing series of Fantasy Trees.
It is 5.5 x 8.5 inches and I created it using pens on paper.

Agree! about not seeing enough Black and White photography. I've to my dismay have been told that it's going to get extremely hard to find black and white film for camera's in the near future. This is horrible considering my 35mm is my baby! I love taking a photo, getting it developed and leafing through it and spotting that one that just makes you stop, and you have to remind yourself to breath...

Thanks Nina for the comment about, "Ascension". It will be part of a group show I've helpled to curate opening in November at www.labourlove.com gallery in Durham, NC. The show will have my work plus other artists with ties to my use of unconventional materials in painting. This particular painting has some strange stuff for sure...notice the actual decayed body of a snake in the bottom left corner?! Note how everything (except possibly the snake) is drifting/floating upwards...but in the top 'chamber' things are instead more magnified and permanent. It's the classic tale of different dimensions, a good & bad one as part of the total story.

Charulata If only people put the same effort to love as they do into hating and being weak...the world would be a fabulous place.
