Elke Reva Sudin received her Bachelor of Art from Pratt Institute in 2009. Her fine art and graphic design work have been featured in various newspapers (New York Press, Jewish Week), magazines (Zeek), websites (FrumSatire.net), and blogs, and her fine art has been featured in shows that include the 3rd Ward, DUMBO Art Festival, A Book About Death Exhibit, Jack Shainman Gallery in Chelsea, and Transcending History: Moving Beyond Slavery and the Holocaust.

Recently, Elke investigated the Satmar Hassidic sect of Orthodox Jews in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, comparing the Satmars to the similarly insular Williamsburg community of Hipsters. Elke's curiosity about each group found expression in a graphic book, where illustrations accompanied articles. This book then expanded into a blog and then a large gallery show entitled, “Hipsters and Hassids.”

Elke's work explores the tension and connection between Judaism and art. Among other themes, she transforms teachings from Tanya (including aspects of Kabbalah) into a visual medium to reflect and describe expressions of Creation. Her artistic and personal choices are all driven by her motivation to produce work that is meaningful to the Jewish community. Elke lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Saul.
