This is exactly the sort of place where I creep into to look for interesting decaying objects to attach to the surface of my burlap paintings. I had a floor just collapse completely under my feet once...very scary but exciting! These are magical pla…

Stiking image! It reminds me of the old 1950's science fiction movies. I like your use of neon colors to accentuate the surreal effect.

Fantastic! This is one of the most imaginative portraits I've seen in years! You have studied well AND done your own thing at the same time! The color balance is rock solid. THis pyschadelic spirit/person will grab the focus of whoever meets him...

I specifically work with artists I have on contract with Agape Tile in Carolina. Can be labeled as "art licensing for tiles only" for commercial purposes: hotels, houses, pools, bathrooms, etc... The goal is to reproduce images on tiles.

Very unique colors! And that's saying something because I look at a LOT of art...too much really. But seeing something like this is inspiring. You're doing really creative painting! Congratulations!

This is a very good one Linda. You've combined surrealism with a subtle bit of pop art! I look forward to seeing what new things you bring us at BAP.

Clive: You sell yourself short! We all have our strengths and weaknesses. I would just say for now to think a bit about what the process of making this painting was all about & also to consider what you like about the end product. There is a lot of…

Another home run image Alan! Your combination of pure abstraction with pop elements is a unique marriage. And your choice of guns & flowers amidst an explosive field of color. I suspect we are to garner a sense of imminent universal danger...but may…

Hi Marina: I just checked out the original Zoom Room post to remind myself of what you're looking for. I'll be getting in touch over the next 4-5 days or so with some artists who may be a good fit. Is the zoomroomnyc@gmail.com the best way to reach…

Fabulous work Matthew! I just attended the opening of the 25th Annual National Collage Juried Show at www.masonmurer.com in Atlanta. I have my painting, "There Is a Path", in the show. This painting definitely would've won a prize if it was there. C…

Thanks so much! Artists tend to respond better to my work than the average Joe. But still it's always great when another artist gets what I'm doing & takes the time to give a vote of confidence! GLAD to have you as a BAP friend. I'll stay involved h…

Which of the following best describe you?
Painter, Professional Creative, Art Enthusiast, Curator
How often are you the first among your friends to try something new?
Very often
What do you want people to know most about you?
I enjoy creating contemporary mixed media paintings full of mystery. I also enjoy seeing a lot of work online from international artists. Organizing group exhibitions with other artists using unconventional materials is an activity I've found to be very personally rewarding. I helped to curate the 2009 'Natural Selection' show at www.LabourLove.com gallery in Durham, NC featuring fibers, rusted metals, burlap and even a few parched bones.

I launched www.destrysparks.com early in 2010!. Facebook is another great way to stay abreast of my art projects. I also write about NC art for Arts Alive magazine. My work and is at www.northcarolinaartists.net & the Sandler File at www.artistsspace.org from NYC.

I participate in some shows at Touchstone Gallery in Washington, DC and in NC (at www.twogalleries.net & www.inkstonegallery.com).

Some very nice paintings Destry. Thanks for the comment. I agree with what you said. There's too much competition between artists and we must help each other. Keep creating! It's important to us all.
