António Dulcídio S. P. Coelho was born in the town of Lixa, municipality of Felgueiras in 1959. He began his career in painting as an autodidact and later studied Art in the National Society of Fine Arts. He is the founder and director of the Open Gallery Network.
Awards, guest lectures, publications and interviews
2011 - Title of Honour and Honorary Member of the Academy of Arts and Letters of Boituba, Brasil, with the seat assignment n. 40.
2010 - Honorable mention, grade bronze (4th place) in the "Pictoremas" exhibition with the painting "Twilight in the Douro River”.
2010 – November 06 – “The Art in the Society” – lecture about Art in th Cultural Center of Horta (Faial Island, Azores).
2010 - October - "Look who's coming to lunch - One day with António Dulcídio”. Public figures of the arts, entertainment, sports, politics, health and others of outstanding interest, visited Public Schools of the First Cycle in Cascais trying to help to promote healthy eating, among kids.
2010 - Participation in the book “Questionarte”. lanched in September 16 th in Novohotel, Lisbon.
2010 – Participation in the book “Cristal de Talentos” (Crystal of Talents) launched on August, 12th at the 21st Book Biennial in São Paulo - Brazil.
2009 – Participated in the book Art Myths – Anthology of Portuguese Contemporary Painters.
2009 – National Bronze Medal received for the work "Ladybug II" at "39e Salon-Concours International, de L' Académie Européenne des Artes" in Belgium (Gembloux).
2009 – Interview to "Viseu tv" at the Grão Vasco Museum in Viseu
2008 – International Bronze Medal received for the work " Survive in Senegal" at the "38e Salon-Concours International, de L' Académie Européenne des Artes" " in Belgium (Gembloux).
2003 – Interview on the state of art in Portugal, "Democracy Stuff, according to António Dulcídio" for the weekly journal "O Norte Desportivo" – Published in October 18th, 2003.
2001 – Guest lecturer at the“1st Forum of Medicine, Internet and Art” – Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon.
1998 – “The birth of a New Era”- Article expressing opinion about the future of the Internet and Art.
