How often are you the first among your friends to try something new?
What do you want people to know most about you?
I grew up in the middle of living art history; the ones who were not afraid to put their creative spirit out there and to share my creative spirit and knowlege with others as they want to share with me.
The frottages are really nice and strangely remind me of the ones I did in Seillans in 2000. I will post a few of them on my page.
It is too bad about Dorothea. But 101 is quite an achievement. She must have been quite woman to have known. I think she was the best of the female surrealists, although she disdained that gender-based distinction, as do I. Her more abstract works of later years are my favourite, more so for me than the early, more veristic works, which are also great. I saw one of her smaller abstracts, which were really figurative underneath, at Sarane Alexandrian's in Paris.
Hi Amy and thank you for that e-mail. I am as ever grateful to know you and can't wait to see the newest work. I put my frottage video on the BAP site. Of course you probably have seen the footage of Max doing frottage in what must be the Seillans studio.
Anyway glad you're warm down there. Not too bad here on Canada's riviera today.
