Houseless Beautiful / powder room

I believe in the power of images to educate and make an impact upon society. The issue of homelessness in our country, and more specifically in my local community, has been a topic that I have been interested in highlighting through my work. But this is not your standard homelessness awareness project. I have chosen to create polished, glossy images illustrating the everyday comforts of home, in the real-life environment of the homeless population in Carlisle. While most of these people have a place to stay for the night, they don't have a house to call their own, where they can take care of the everyday tasks that most of us take for granted. With this project, I have created images that I hope will make a lasting impression upon the viewers, enabling them truly understand what the homeless are lacking, what it means to be houseless.
