Beach Scene

This oil painting goes way back to 1981-82 with the oil painted shutter added in 1983. I grew up near the beach, although I live now in the mountains. This was inspired by a typical Long Island, NY USA beach scene, but with a twist. It was one of my early “dot” paintings but the heat has gotten to them and they are sort of blurred like when the heat rises off the hot sand and the wind blows it along. It looks like a cabana, towel, or colorful umbrella represented by the 3D shutter.
