What's the Best Way to Find Funding for a Studio and Equipment?

I was living and learning in Europe for the past few years, developing my style, process and technique. Upon returning to the USA, I've seen a big difference in credit opportunities, prices in general for equipment and space.

Is there funding, such as grants, loans, investors, somewhere? Looking for resources that are available to many artists in Europe, which are seemingly nonexistant here.

If you made the mistake of dropping into NY, get out of ther while you can.

As far as joining a co-op...usually you can find a local arts council that will steer you...as far as investors, loans and buying into a incorperated guild or agency, I left NY State.  From what I understand it was still may be possible for a group of people to form a corporation in California.  Although perfectly legal throught the US, and a recommended practice by all necessary US Federal laws, shadow law enforcment agencys that have been taking kickbacks from Ponzy schemes are the actual State legislatures.

You may want to check with a reputable agent in the area you choose to live.
