Brooklyn Art Project

An artist collective whose work "tests the boundaries" of what is possible within their individual mediums.

There are many outlets for the more "traditional" arts in and around the Boston area. I like Boston, but for the most part it continues to maintain a very conservative mind-set.

Galleries like Barbara Krakow, Bernard Toale, Judi Rotenberg, and Kidder-Smith along with newer galleries like Rhys and the addition of the new ICA, have all done an incredible job of bringing new venues of art to Boston.

I just see this as a great opportunity (via the wonderful people at
the brooklynartproject ) to present an "alternative" body of work by Boston artists, to a worldwide audience.

My goal here is to showcase those artists who do not fit that "traditional" mold, e.g. remove the "stigma" of how Boston is viewed when it comes to the arts. With a solid body of work we could then seek sponsorship for a show that would really make a "statement". Maybe the show could then become a traveling show, which would give us the chance to start moving that collective statement around.

I am looking for artists who are well seasoned in their medium and whose work solidly articulates that to the viewer.

Artists working in and around Boston are invited to submit their work.
