I am working on some new paintings for my solo show in November '09 at my co-op/studio/gallery = F8TL Studios. BUT - I have a BIG storage issue as I have so many paintings and there isn't room to store them at the studio! So they are all over my very tiny domicile. That plus my hubby's artwork and 5 cats!!

So... I am experimenting with painting on paper. So far, so good. But the 130 lb. paper doesn't seem heavy eonugh. Next, I will buy a couple of sheets of that really heavy 300 lb. high dollar paper to try on...
I've helped to organize a group exhibition at the brand new LabourLove Gallery in Durham, NC from November into January 2010. They have a nice space surrounded by studios with well attended gallery walks around the city. The show will feature unusual media including burlap, other fibers, rusted metals, and even a few bones for good measure! They should post something about it in a few weeks on their site at www.labourlove.com. It's a great venue because it's been getting a lot of attention from the triangle area media outlets in-state. I look forward to working with other artists in the future who work with unconventional media and/or methods to put together group shows. And by the way, I just love the concept here at BAP! I just finished up this short run screenprint that I'm pretty excited about. You can find it at Supermarket

I've been having a blast doing self portraits, a series. I always enjoy looking at artist's self portraits, it's important stuff.

The Nightjar Creative team is working on a huge photo series called Sand County - a fashion driven photo series depicting a lo-fi vision of America in the year 2030. The first shoot is at 3rd Ward in Booklyn on 10/24. Casting for the shoot is on 10/3 at 3rd Ward. If you want in, check it out: http://nightjarcreative.com/index.php?/about/project-details/

We're always looking for talented people to help in creating indie-minded art and entertainment.
bright colors, tweeking out on acrylic paint, mysterious realistically rendered abstract shapes. Imaginary light. and a lil bit of tracing splatter and smear.
I'm thinking about doing some encaustic paintings based on these photos from my recent camping trip to Wilbur Hot Springs--a 1800 acre wilderness preserve nestled in the foothills of the Northern California coastal range.
