Antagonist Movement
The Antagonist Movement began over ten years ago in the East Village of New York
City as a community of artists banding together to promote art, music and writing and to
create a venue where emerging artists could inspire and help each other while reaching a
wider audience. Our artwork stresses our social belief that artists have a responsibility to help
their communities thrive and, yet, our artists may find themselves in direct conflict with
commercialism, opportunism or the powers that be. There is no standard form or medium
for creativity, except the piece should provoke its audience.
