I have never collaborated with another artist on a project!

I look forward to hearing what other artists will say about collaborations, too. :)
I sometimes collaborate with my partner on my photography. If the shoot involves me in it, I need someone to take the shot, but I give pretty clear direction on how it should look and we do a polaroid or digital first sometimes before shooting with film (usually 120 or 4x5 so we don't like to waste shots, every shot must count).

Other times, we brainstorm together on concepts. We currently have a few themes to explore, but are having problems scheduling time together to do it.

On all my other work (like my street portraiture), I work alone. But I do really enjoy collaborating too. His concepts/direction go under his name, and mine are under my name. That's how we do it but if it was a joint concept we would both be the listed artist.

I've never found it hard, except sometimes we don't agree but usually we do!
Good luck with your project.
