“Good fences make good neighbors.” - Robert Frost

ROART and Brookland Capital would like to invite you to submit a design concept for the Brookland Fence Project. The project offers a platform for Brooklyn-based artists to share their work with the public by designing unique, street-level fences for newly constructed residential buildings throughout the borough. Our aim is to capture the essence of the Brooklyn community and seamlessly infuse new buildings with these neighborhood’s unique character.

We are seeking innovative and inexpensive designs, and welcome the use of nontraditional materials and technologies. Here are a few things to consider:

  • What does Brooklyn mean to you?

  • What would you wish to see surrounding your own home instead of a plain fence?

Requirements

  • Must be at least 50% opaque

  • 6-8 feet high

  • 4 feet in overall depth

  • No words

If you are interested, please send a sample of your work to hannah@roart.com
