Without regard for analog and digital, I express myself frankly and openly, without hiding my view of the world: my own inner thoughts, desires, and greed. And by soaking it in with its necessary historical background and key phrases, I ensure my expression never ends simply as self-satisfaction of the mind.
"KUMADORI BABY" is a series of work that literally depicts the face of a baby using the applied gradation technique of Kabuki theater.
The baby symbolizes life, birth, and reincarnation.
The gradation of Kabuki symbolizes Japanese traditional culture.
The ukiyoe print in the background symbolizes, in short, Japan of the past.
Therefore, the concept of this series is the inheriting of tradition and overcoming of the past in a “New Birth of Japan.”
As a digital technique, the number of works will continue to increase in the future. And including a number of key phrases of elsewhere elsewhere. I would like for them to be felt respectively as they are.
