Artist of the Month: Burton Machen - Public Talk

This month at Vue Privée, American photographer and artist Burton Machen presents his unique artistic representation of a portrait. Through history, the subject is predominantly the artist’s expression of a person, but with Urban Evolution PORTRAITS PROJECT, Burton Machen allows the world to tell him how his portrait should look like. Photographing the evolution of portraits that he posts on the streets in cities like New York, Paris, New Orleans, London, Miami. San Francisco and Los Angeles, Burton Machen observes this open discourse until he feels that the exchange has accomplished maturity before deciding that the image is complete. Spontaneous and dynamic Urban Evolution PORTRAITS PROJECTS is nothing short of an honest depiction of the artist’s chosen subjects.
