In conjunction with Greenpoint Open Studios, Brooklyn Grain, a rental photo studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, will be holding a tintype portrait event on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 & 5. Throughout the weekend we will be making portraits in our studio using this 19th century photographic process. Each photograph is captured on a piece of aluminum, hand-developed in our darkroom, and results in a one of a kind portrait unlike anything else.
Additionally, we are having a massive print sale of work from photographers Ebru Yildiz, Mitchell King, and Adela Laconte at great prices. A great opportunity to spruce up those bare walls of yours!
For this event we are making our tintypes at the discounted rate of $50, which includes the original 4x5 plate & high-resolution scan suitable for printing up to 8” x 10”.
We are open to the public and no reservations for the tintypes are necessary. Just come on by!
