Event Description

The comedy is settled behind the scenes of a night TV program, like Saturday Night Live. The protagonists are: the comedian, the studio assistant, the costume designer and the producer. What the public will "see" is a rehearsal of the episode of this program, close to be cancelled by decision of the network. The broadcaster that transmits the live show every night since twenty years is on the verge of bankruptcy. the set design into pieces and non-existent, workers on the run (the presenter and authors are no more), people improvised actors. The show alternates between the private moments and interactions between the protagonists, with the rehearsal of the show, with the inevitable rivalry, the compromises, the complaints, the sentimental ties that are mixed with those professionals, typical of the show. The comedy follows the outline of the transmission that will go on the air, with the comic monologues, the angle of magic, musical guests, the sketch. The border, however, between the show and the” behind the scenes” is fleeting, overlaps. The sketch’s characters will trespass in the "reality" and the "reality"will look like a “ perennial show” with his recorded laughters and his jingles. The show becomes a metaphor for a society, a "system" about to collapse on itself: a "system" inhabited by absurd and surreal characters that do not receive the disaster coming. The references of the show are the American TV series as Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and 30 Rock, both a fairly faithful representation of how can be the world of television.
