Event Description

The Closing Event at Michael Alan's Exhibition,
Blurred / Reformed / Dissected

Windows are used to sell and display products – but never to create destruction. Our connection to objects, clothing, mannequins and fashion is taken for granted. In this piece, the subject, graphic designer Nora McKelvey, will be physically altered – distressed and reformed into one of Michael Alan’s mangled sculptures.

Visually shocking, the Displayed Window questions our system of immediate consumer gratification by publicly transforming human into object. For 3 hours, passers-by will be caught off-guard, forced to consider their material relationships by this piece of art activism.
