Event Description

Lucia Franco was born in Paysandu, Uruguay. She is a Graphic Designer and illustrator, with a Degree in Design from the ORT University in Montevideo, Uruguay. 

 

Since 1990 she has attended various workshops in painting, drawing and photography, and since 2002 she has been working in different studios and agencies.

From 2008 to 2013 she worked as an Art Director for Eme Latam, a publishing house based in Montevideo, specializing herself in editorial design and illustration, while working for big publishing firms across the world. 

 

She has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Uruguay and abroad (Gallery Espai CROMATIC, Tarragona, Spain 2009; "Un amor cayó del cielo" gallery, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2010; KIOSKO, Montevideo, Uruguay, 2012; Alliance Française, Montevideo, Uruguay, 2013), and illustrating magazine articles, notes, book covers and children's stories ("Colección Cocina para Niños" - Editorial Eme 2009; "Guía Ilustrada de Montevideo" - publishing cluster of CCE, Montevideo, 2010; "Ecos de voces que no se rinden" - Macarena Alvarez Trongué - Editorial Dunken, Buenos Aires, 2010; "Caraclasa" - Magdalena Helguera - Random House Mondadori - Editorial Sudamericana, Montevideo 2010; "Colección Fábulas de Mi País" - Editorial Eme, Montevideo, 2011; "Confábulos" - Paola Gallo - Mexico, 2013).

 

She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, and works independently as a freelancer.
