At the Javits Center (Hall 1A, Booth 58), Helene Mukhtar will present work completed in 2011.
Unlike her previous mixed-media work, these latest pieces concentrate on the acrylic paint medium and explore
textures, brush strokes and paint thickness combined with an energetic and
pulsating color palette.
In this work she is striving to reconnect with the spontaneity and freedom of her inner child while celebrating
the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Her cheerful, cartoon-style
characters and animal figures inject humor into her work while bright and
muscular colors associated with a fearless painting style create dramatic
impact.
Born in France and living in Brooklyn, Helene Mukhtar’s work has been exhibited in the United States and
France. Recent solo shows include the 440 Gallery in Brooklyn, Galerie ArtSud
in France and Ion Studio in Soho.
