Sanae Yoshikawa, a Japanese artist based in Tokyo, was born in 1974. She graduated from Waseda University in 1999 with a B.A in Social Science from the Department of Education. Although her degree was significant for her, she came into the wonderful world of art when she realized she had found a way to express her imagination through her own art expression in 2000. The experience of traveling around 24 different countries from her college days greatly influenced her pieces. These profound personal experiences were and continue to be linked with her philosophical thoughts about Earth and about life. In 2008, she took some classes at The Art Students League of New York in Manhattan and pursued both her real and abstract art through painting in oil. Her artwork has been shown many times at personal or group exhibitions in Japan as well as in the United States and has attracted many people from all around the world.
