West Chelsea Artists Open Studios evolved out of a grass roots movement by artists to develop an alternative venue for the public to view, interact and personally meet with contemporary artists in the world class art community of the West Chelsea Arts district in 2011.
This annual event allows area artists to open their studios to the public. Art lovers, collectors, dealers and visitors are allowed to meet the artists and see first hand where some of the world's greatest contemporary art is created, before it hangs on museum and gallery walls.
Please stop by artist Rodney Durso's studio during the weekend. His doors will be open to the public from 12pm - 6pm, Saturday and Sunday, June 11th-12th. Stop by, grab a drink or snack and catch up on his work that was recently completed as a Visiting Artist at the American Academy of Rome.
Many other studios will be open to visit during this early Summer weekend, so make sure to meander and stroll, and take a look at their work. It's a great way to spend an afternoon.
