Event Description

BlackSnow:  Volume I
Fine Art and Couture by Micah (Blacklight) Lee and Opie Snow.
October 19th, 2010
Art Show 7-10pm.  Fashion Performance 8pm.
Ico Gallery. 606 West 26th Street, New York, NY, 10001.  www.icogallery.com

A melding of art, music, movement and fashion. BlackSnow: Volume I is a cross pollination of fine art and couture by Micah (Blacklight) Lee and Opie Snow.  Painted and stitched canvas cavorts alongside cotton, tweed and leather; walls of large scale figurative oil paintings; the negative spaces hosting models clothed in the dark dreams of their makers. Hand constructed, these wearable art pieces will contribute a living, moving sculptural component to the installation of which they are a part.  Explored through these varied mediums are neo-archetypes with an animalistic bent; a joining of metaphor and the concrete manifestation of new mythology.

This is a one night gallery event.  The art opening is from 7-10pm, with a
fashion performance at 8pm.

Micah (BlackLight) Lee and Opie Snow live and work in Brooklyn, NY.
Collectively they have shown in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland.
