Basak Malone LLC in association with The Gershwin Hotel is pleased to announce: “Art Goes on Vacation“
A Solo Photography Exhibition by Emily J. Hara.
At The Gershwin Hotel’s premier lounge space, great art goes on vacation! In this trendy and fashionable hotel located in the Flatiron District, Art Goes on Vacation will continue with Emily J. Hara's photography show April 16 - May 15th, 2011. Her third solo show to date, this will be Emily's inaugural exhibition at this space. The artist features curiously still interiors that evoke both tranquility and melancholy. Capturing the simple beauty of inanimate objects, the artist gives voice to her subjects, being chairs, beds and doors, through color, position, and ambient light. Her examination of all things quiet results is an abstract narrative full of contemplation and reflection.
Emily is a published travel and fine art photographer for Travel Squire and has shown in museums and galleries nationwide including The Center for Fine Art Photography at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Fort Collins, CO, numerous galleries along the eastern and pacific seaboards, the Midwest, and in Manhattan, Park Slope/Brooklyn and the Bronx, NY.
Basak Malone LLC will continue to promote artists through exhibitions, publications and film. We express our extensive appreciation to Gershwin Hotel for making this remarkable project possible.
