Akiko Noda was born in Kumamoto, Japan in 1982.
In 2006, she graduated from the oil painting course of the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music.
She learned oil painting and woodblock prints in high school and university.
After graduation, she moved to Shonan, Kanagawa prefecture and started to pick up driftwood in the ocean.
It was a meeting with a new material to her.
She creates people and imaginary creatures by the driftwoods.
Every driftwood is different from one another, and she feels warmth through them.
She seeks to give new lives to the driftwoods that are washed ashore from faraway lands.
