Event Description

Primarily a “girls illustrator” AKIKO makes life-size illustrations that incorporate a design sense shared with textiles. Based in Yokohama, Japan, since 2012 she has worked as a merchandise designer. In 2013, her work was displayed in the 21st World Peace Art Exhibition, a springboard for her career in Taiwan, New York, and around the globe. Be it watercolor, acrylic, pen, or another medium, her organic style of painting utilizes the particularities of her materials. Her organic style of painting unique to her hand and the vivid colors she extracts is unique to her work.
